How To Choose Guitar Pickups ?

For Electric guitar, there are three types of pickup. The guitars form will have one of three pickup type, guitar with all combination of the pickups can be found.

Single-coil pickups are used for thin voice. This style is usually about three-quarters inches long and half an inch wide. This is common in guitars such as Fender Stratocaster and Telecaster. Both instruments are good for playing rock, country and pop music. Famous characters with this style of Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray.

Hambücker pickups has two coils wound so that they eliminate annoying sixty cycle hum. Contacts that often offer pick-up a much more gentle, rounded tone. Magnets are also used to produce a stronger signal. This helps the amplifier, giving further processing. This is more durable than the single coil, but offers a low note. Some are available with a coil-tap control that allows you only one coil, so the use of voice over the pick-up. Jimmy Page, Joe Perry and John Lennon used with Hambücker guitar pickups.

A PIEZO pickups is a crystal-like material without magnetic properties. Thus, a very weak signal, which must be produced before the normal amplifier increases. Here is integrated into the electronic guitar playing. The preamp on the guitar, the amplifier signal is to prepare for, and make sound PIEZO pickup to show through. Many guitar with piezos have thirteen pin guitar synthesizer output signal, where the show leaves a lot to the keyboard. If this does not happen, which PIEZO used to create an acoustic sound.
